Sunbury College received a letter from the Victoria State Emergency Service – Sunbury Unit this week, recognising the efforts of two of our students who are volunteer members of Sunbury SES.  The students both currently in Year 10, Brandon Warren and Vanessa White recently dedicated their entire weekend to the service of the community when the State was placed on high alert in preparation for a Rain and Flooding event last week.

Brandon and Vanessa took part in Sandbag distribution, Storm Emergency Response and community emergency information doorknocks.  In the words of the  Officer in charge, Jarrod Bell, at all times they held themselves ‘with a positive attitude, in the spirit of teamwork, leadership and community.’  Their school is extremely proud of Vanessa and Brandon’s efforts in support of their town. They live values that reflect the SES slogan ‘For our community’ and those Sunbury College wish to uphold, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Endeavour.
