Making your choice of secondary school
For students in government primary schools looking to enrol in Year 7
Information for parents / carers on moving from primary school to secondary school can be found online at Moving from primary to secondary school: information for parents.
Your child’s government primary school will provide you with guidance on how to access the Year 7 Placement Information Pack and Application Form.
If you are a parent / carer of a student at a non-government school, or are currently home schooling your child, you can find more details on how to apply for Year 7 enrolment at our school at Moving from primary to secondary school: information for parents.
You may also contact our school directly for guidance on how to apply for a year 7 placement for 2021.
Some key information
Our enrolment process follows state-wide Department of Education and Training (DET) guidelines. Students who live in the area identified using the Find My School website are guaranteed a place at our school. Others may apply but are not guaranteed a place and are admitted subject to things such as siblings at the school, curriculum and/or compassionate grounds.
To find out if we are your closest secondary school check the Find My School website. https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/
The application forms for year 7 are distributed within government primary schools and are returned to your primary school. If your child currently attends a non-government school contact us for the paperwork or download it from this website.
Once the forms are returned, the primary schools notify us and families will receive an information and enrolment pack.
All schools offer a Transition Day normally on the second Tuesday in December. Sunbury College offers additional transition days for students with special needs. Parents can request this through their primary school or direct to the College by contacting our Transition Coordinator or Integration Coordinator.
A New Parent Information Evening is held on the night of the official Transition Day.

Changing schools is quite common and undertaken for varied reasons including: family relocation, changes in family circumstances and curriculum offered at schools. Sometimes, the first school of choice doesn’t quite ‘fit’ and a change is sought to further a student’s wellbeing or academic progress. Check the Find My School website to see your closest school. https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/
